School Fundraising

Plan an event people can enjoy.

Begin with a clear purpose, a realistic budget, and a job for every volunteer.

Start with the purpose

Write one sentence explaining what the event will support. Choose an event that fits your community’s time, space, and volunteer capacity.

Try a simple planning budget

This is an arithmetic example, not a forecast: 80 tickets at $5 produce $400 in gross receipts. If supplies cost $120 and venue costs are $80, the amount left is $200 before any other expenses.

Give each task an owner

  • Venue and schedule
  • Supplies and setup
  • Volunteer coordination
  • Accessibility and attendee information
  • Money handling and reconciliation
  • Cleanup and thank-you notes

Before taking payments, confirm your school’s approval process and the event requirements that apply locally.
