A three-question reading notebook
After a short text, write:
- What happened, or what was the main idea?
- Which detail helped you understand it?
- What question do you still have?
For a story, compare two characters’ choices. For an informational text, separate a claim from the evidence offered for it.
Try a revision
Write instructions for a familiar task. Ask a partner to follow them exactly. Add any missing steps and replace vague words with specific ones.
