Get your child to help you in the kitchen by letting him measure and see how ingredients react when mixed. This is a valuable lesson in math and home science.

Math based games can be played on long distance journeys. This is a great situation to teach kids concepts of time and speed. Also let your children manage their pocket money efficiently while on vacation. Logic games like Family Math are very popular. There are also many books and websites with science project and mathematical ideas.

Since girls are less mathematically inclined and unlikely to take higher maths and science ignite your daughter’s science and reasoning skills. Show an interest in her schools’ math and science project. Intervene in the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth grade when your child is deciding on which subjects to choose and persuade her to take up higher math and science.

Math science boosts your child’s career options, be it in engineering, healthcare or information management. Higher education in science and math help your child to observe and systematically treat information, which is later important in all fields of work; be it teaching or music.

Make sure your child gets sound mathematical and science education. In elementary school, basics of science should be grasped. Your middle-school child should be prepared for high school science and math education. Your high school child should take rigorous math science courses to be academically brighter.
